Standard Features

The University telephone system provides a number of standard features. Standard features are system-wide features and may be accessed by most campus phones. For questions about the common standard features or about programming additional features not listed below, contact Telecommunications@MissouriState.edu.

Standard Features

Call coverage routes a ringing phone to another extension or voicemail after a predetermined number of rings. Contact Telecommunications@MissouriState.edu to have this programmed.
Call Forwarding directs your incoming calls to another campus extension or to an off-campus telephone number of your choice.
Call Park allows you to place a call on hold and pick the call up on another extension.
Call Pick Up allows you to answer another extension in your pick up group while you are at your phone. Contact Telecommunications@MissouriState.edu to have this programmed.
Directed Call Pick Up allows you to answer a specific ringing extension even if the phone is not in your call pick up group. Contact Telecommunications@MissouriState.edu to have this programmed.
Direct Transfer to Voicemail allows you to transfer a call directly into a voice mailbox without ringing the subscriber's phone.
EC500 allows you to receive incoming calls from your workstation extension to your cell phone. On returning to the office you can continue the call on the workstation phone without interrupting the conversation. Contact Telecommunications@MissouriState.edu to have this programmed.
Last Number Redial allows you to redial the last number your dialed from your extension.
Priority Calling allows you to override the system coverage on a phone.
Send All Calls allows you to direct incoming calls to Call Coverage. Contact Telecommunications@MissouriState.edu to have this programmed.
Transfer Call allows you to transfer a call to a different extension or phone number.
Voice messages are delivered to the subscriber's email or to the departmental email address.

Phone Types

Mode/Type	Features
J139/J169 SIP	J139/J169 SIP phones have more than one button for placing and receiving calls. They have programmable feature buttons using a data connection.
Multi-Line VoIP	Multi-Line VoIP phones have more than one button for placing and receiving calls. They have programmable feature buttons using a data connection.
Softphone (Avaya Workplace)	Softphones for mobile phones and workstations simulate the SIP or VoIP desk phones.
Single-Line	Single-Line phones recieve one call at a time.

Alert Ring Tones

Number of Rings	Meaning
One Ring	Call from another extension.
Two Rings	Call from an off-campus phone or the campus operator.
Three Rings	Priority call or a busy auto call back.
