The University telephone system provides a number of standard features. Standard features are system-wide features and may be accessed by most campus phones. Phone Types

Mode/Type Features
J139/J169 SIP J139/J169 SIP phones have more than one button for placing and receiving calls. They have programmable feature buttons using a data connection.
Multi-Line VoIP Multi-Line VoIP phones have more than one button for placing and receiving calls. They have programmable feature buttons using a data connection.

Softphone

(Avaya Workplace)

Softphones for mobile phones and workstations simulate the SIP or VoIP desk phones.
Single-Line Single-Line phones recieve one call at a time.

Alert Ring Tones

Number of Rings Meaning
One Ring Call from another extension.
Two Rings Call from an off-campus phone or the campus operator.
Three Rings Priority call or a busy auto call back.
